Default Yukon Outfitters

Can anyone recommend a Yukon Outfitter for a combination hunt for Moose, Grizz, Sheep, and Caribou?

Lookin to splash some cash and bag a few wall hangers.

I just moved down from there and i would reccomend Tim Mervyn for the sheep and griz. Go with Shockey for the moose and Ceaser lake outfitters for the boo. That way you will get some gaggers and see a lot of country. For a combo like you mentioned Dixons can probably fill the bill for all four but by splitting up you will get bigger animals. Stay away from Midnight Sun.

Awesome guys, thanks.

Ive emailed Blackstone and will see what they can offer. I see they have their own charter service and will fly hunters from one hunt area to another in order to get the hunter in the right spot for the animal.

Im getting excited now.

Allan Young is perhaps the absolute biggest a*#hole I have ever had the displesure of meeting. I personally would not go gopher hunting with that selfish, self serving SOB. Chris is OK but I tell you if you want to shoot biggies go with the ones I told you earlier

Anyone have experience with Koser Outfitters?

What does Shockey charge?

Avidhunter, are you by Rochester? Are you referring to the area about 1.5 miles west of Dapp Creek?

If i was booking a combo hunt i would research these outfitters.

Chris Widrig.
Bonnet Plume.
Yukon Stone.
Koser outfitters.
Stan Stevens.

It all depends on what animals you want to hunt the most.

Jim Shockey kind of rubs me the wrong way but i dont think anyone is killing bigger moose then his Rogue River Territory.Judging from the comments on his blog i dont think(dont qoute me on this) that they killed a moose under 60" this year.

I wouldnt book with Allan Young....personal reasons......and I know guides who have worked for him in the past and would not again.....

Chris McKinnon has a hell of an outfit with Bonnet Plume after taking it over.

I agree with the above list that BrownBear has provided to research.....

Shockey charges upwards of 10 -13K. I guess when you have a big name and good territory you probably have lots of people chopping at the bit to hunt with you.

I am not sure how other outfitters work, but you should go to Jim's website because 13K only gets you started...there are a lot of extras that will put you closer to 20K to actually get you to camp....

Not that it ain't worth it.....just syaing it is big$$$$$'s

AVID.
At the SCI convention in January, Shockey has put up for auction a Moose hunt that will be filmed and shown on his TV show.
Also plenty of other hunts up for auction.

Perhaps worth looking into?
