Any thoughts on this scope on a 243?

9 magnification is plenty for a deer at 400 meters. How far do you plan on hunting?

Decent glass objective is annoyingly large ive mounted two for a friend most high rings are not high enough for clearence need extra high and makes for awkward inconsistent cheek weld i wouldnt buy one

You can get a cheek riser if the scope is too high, but I think that scope would be fine for a .243, assuming your shooting across farmland, if your using it in the bush i'd say to try a heavier caliber with lower magnification scope.

The Hog Hunter Cross Fire II in 3-12x56 has better features then my Nikon 3-12x42.

Field of view on 3X is about 36 feet at 100 meters, that is more than my Nikon that I use for bush Harvesting.

I use to harvest with a straight 4 and 6 power scopes back in the day, but I found it hard to get onto target with them,,, at least the 6X for sure. When the critters were up close.

I returned to variable 3X to what ever power after that with fairly good success.
Been bush Hog Harvesting ever since.

At least your looking at a optic scope that could allow for a wide berth of view which is nice.

There should be some reviews on the Web and YouTube to get you up to speed.
I'm on month 4 of researching my next optic scope for my next build.

Good luck and keep us up todate on what you find and how it works out.

Don
