Default Large Cutting Board

Hey Gents

Where is the best place to buy a large cutting board to attach to my processing total.

I have the small folding table from Costco that I use for processing. thinking that it might be easier in the knives if I had a true cutting board top rather the really hard plastic.

Thanks

A sheet of puckboard is great for butchering, think it's still available thru Home Hardware. etc. We used it for years on our camp counters and caping shed.

Norwesco in calgary they will cut you a piece of UHMW plastic any size or you can get a 4x8 sheet or even bigger. Thickness up to 4". Call them they might recommend something better than UHMW

Costco last year in winter were selling a white Plastic puck board for shooting pucks on . I guess for off season when no ice is around.

Another option is to vist a sighen company ,as they throw out a lot of plastic from old store fronts or even new ones if they screw up .

Lowes has large slabs of bamboo table top that goes on sale pretty often. Not sure if that works or not but it's what I was planning on getting.

We have 2 sheets of 5/8" reinforced plywood (2x4's on bottom to support weight). We set these on saw horses and lay a 4x8 sheet of 1/8" puckboard on top of each one. We have used these for many years and the puckboard pressure washes up really nice.
We bought the puckboard at Home Hardware. If I recall, you could also buy 1/4" puckboard sheets.

Default Plywood

My resistance to using plywood is that it would be difficult to clean after use.

I'm guessing the guys using plywood don't find they are having this problem.

Maybe you're overthinking this.

How big of a knife are you planning on using?

All you need is a small wood cutting board.

Get two or three if you really feel you need more of the table covered at once.

https://www.epicureancs.com/product/...utting-boards/

this is what i run but i'm very particular as to what i like.

i bought it mainly for geese because i do them in the field and you can get two guys on a tailgate going at once right beside the breaster.

also it's large enough to easily do a large 1/4 of any big game at a time
