Hey guys,

Heading out for a 3 day hunt on the OH Ranch this Sept, first time out there. Any insight or tips from guys that have hunted the property?

Thanks!

I've only hunted OH once (2 days) and got nothing, so I'm not of much help. Confused about one thing. I always thought the reservation system was to hunt on OH lease land. However, I just checked the county map of the area that is on IHunter. It doesn't show any lease land with OH or Calgary Stampede on it. Have things changed? Were leases given up to someone else? Or is the map just wrong? Thanks.

Oh, and good luck with that hunt.

If I remember right its being managed by someone at a stampede email address. does not come up as stampede under the tittle.

iHunter maps show the leaseholder contact name, not the legal entity that leases the land.

Going in on the north or south end? On the south end, once you get up the rise, start hunting. Whites tails and moose in the area. Head N/NW in the brush and you'll find big bucks. They're there. As for elk, they come and go. Better on the north end for elk and mule deer.

If you come in from the south side off 541. I usually head in while it's dark and get up to the ponds by first light so I can glass the first ridge you'll see. I've seen elk high on the ridge and near the ponds. If your up to it get to the top of the ridge and you can see a ways, good place to glass from and have found a few wallows up there. Good luck out there and have fun.
