Default Mule Buck

Two years ago I've injured my shoulder playing tennis so my Hoyt was gathering dust since than. Last year I tried to shoot it before hunting season and lost 2 arrows shooting at 20 yards 3ft x3ft target.???
With this "accuracy" I gave up for another year..
So this year I've got my bow tuned , peep site lens installed to see things better and started shooting again.
Once I shot 3 Arrows in 8" target at 40 yards I was ready.

So yesterday morning I am driving to my spot and I see Elk herd grazing on posted land. I've got ready with a few minutes remaining to shooting light and now I am watching them from 600 y. away. Big 6x6 still interested in some cows cruising in between 25 or so. Pulled the Hoochie Mama and gave few chirps....Bull turned towards me made a few steps and went to check one of his cows. I watched them till 8.15 am and they cross fence line walking to the next posted land....

Not bad start to even see them...Now I need to search my query some more ... I have elk, whitey and mulie tag on me so let see what will happen...
Moving through bush quietly is next to impossible due to very dry leaves everywhere...So I am walking for ten minutes trying to ignore Nature call that is not going away. You know archery equipment and how much it takes to pull everything off of you and which pocket is this darn paper in???

As soon as I am done with all this ...I see some movement up the hill...
There is something up there...So I sneak there in this general direction and I see 4x4 mulie standing there ...79 yards away on my rangefinder...Not easy to be quiet but I am trying my best walking behind some poplar trees that now are hiding buck from me and vice verse...Than another smaller buck gets up and he is broadsided and it is 39 yards away....I can wait for this bigger one to come in to shooting line but no...I am not trophy hunting so pull my bow and release...Whoomp I hear and buck jumps up in the air and I see half of an arrow in front of his shoulder....walks away and I hear him trashing quite far from my position.....
Yes thanks to St. Hubert and a little pledge to get some help in tracking....

Now this bigger buck is walking slowly at 35 yards broadsided ...That's OK I am not moving and he and a doe are walking away ...

I marked my spot with tape and went to check place were he was standing when I shot. There is some blood right there but I have trouble to find his trail..
Marked this place as well and I decided to walk to where I've heard trashing.
Luckily I found him piled up and done.

Now DDD starts. What is this? Dress, Drag and Drive home...

What a day ....Good to be back at Bow hunting...Thanks

Congrats on your buck.
Thanks for sharing.
Now if my arrow would only connect with a deer.
