Default Sonic Broadheads

Has any one used these broadheads as I have bought some but have not been lucky enough yet to put an animal down with them. I think they shot great at the range but don't know about out in the feild. Any input is great thanks Tinman

I have used the liberty which is also made by American Broadhead Co. I took a bear with one last year , it only went about 30yards with a massive blood trail. I found they shot very well but I cannot find them here in Edmonton. I will be ordering more from Cabelas. I have used the Rage 3 blade in its place and took 2 caribou a couple weeks ago with absolutely massive entrance wounds. One shot had taken out 4 ribs and still found the lungs, while it did not pass through even though I pull about 73 lbs. It did its job!!

Trophy Book was either all out or hasn't brought any in. I have looked there a number of times and not seen them.

However I will be out there on Friday so I will have another look.

Thanks

Default SUB - sonic heads

Hi Tinman, I bought 85 grain Sonic heads because I think "cut on contact" heads are the best. I decided to sacrifice one as a practice head. It shot as true as my field points, but after only 7 shots into a barley straw round bale it only penetrated about 6 inches. When I pulled it out I found the ferrule had snapped off. I don't feel that barley straw is tougher than an elk or a bear rib, so needless to say I have no faith in them. The only reason I carry even one of them is because I think maybe it might penetrate a coyote or the likes, and I like to carry one "sacrificial" broadhead for any vermin' that might cross my path, I certainly wouldn't use one for any big game. But then again thats just been my experiance and my opinion.

Thanks for everyones insight on this matter. I no longer question these broadheads as I shot my first deer this weekend with one and it did a great job.
