Fished it for the first time ever last winter. Got a bunch of 55-65 cm pike. Only a 1 hour drive for us...not worth a 3 hour drive.
If you do decide to go, it can be accessed via the prairie trail on the north side of the lake that loops onto the peninsula. (easy to see on Google maps). We just fished straight out from where we parked the truck.

Just a little disclaimer - we had set up by drilling 2 rows of holes about 40 feet apart from each other. After we had been fishing for an hour or two, these two guys showed up and decided to fish between our two rows of tip-ups. We decided to have a little fun with them...
