Default Huge winds in Calgary this morning

I woke up to the sounds of high winds and things blowing around outside. Can’t see what’s blowing yet however it sure is gusting.

We have the same right now. My deck door was tough to open as snow and ice had blown in between the door and frame, and the ground is covered with a mixture of ice/snow.

Wind is howling in Lloyd, power was off around 5:30 for 1/2 hour, not much snow yet looks like good day to putter around in the garage.

Lethbridge had a trifecta of weather warnings yesterday: wind, grass fire & snow squall.

Howling in the Hat since 530 with snow on the ground

Must be clear across the province. It started up here in Fort McMurray around dinner last night and picked up during the night. She’s really blowing as of 7:00 this morning.

If you need to drive anywheres and your car is outside you should check it a while before leaving as ours was frozen shut. Couldn’t open

We got rain and lots of it last night to start the storm up our way by Meadow Lake Sask, it quickly turned to wind and rain, then wind and snow with a temp drop from last night of plus 4 to -4 with still some wind as I write this...so roads are ice under snow...perfect driving conditions for absolutely nothing this morning...unless you are a bird then once your up there, just ride the wind..down here on the ground is not so good...

We've been without power since about 4am. Power lines down. 50-70 car pile up on hwy 1 just east of Brooks.

Thankful for my gas stove and my gas fireplace. Just dropped off a couple litres of hot water to our neighbor so they could have a warm drink.

I feel like I need to get a medium sized tarp, toboggan, some rope, and a hard hat. Not sure what would happen after that, but I just have a weird urge to gather these materials together.

lol that deserves a like

We had the wind descend on the Pass Sat eve and the snow on Sun night. 7 inches of new snow on the ground and it's still snowing.

Wind is coming from the South which is really uncommon here. Feels like my roof wants to lift off this afternoon in NW calgary.
