Question hays-grantham reservoir info

Anyone care to let me know if it's work a 3hr drive to fish? Not looking for any locations or anything just thinking of taking a drive and trying it out. Private message if you wish

Depends what you are after. It’s a bit of a slough. Never seen anything come out other than pike. I would think there are better lakes with 3 hours drive.

How do you access this reservoir? I've driven past it, and tried to access from the south side, but couldn't find an access point.

Fished it for the first time ever last winter. Got a bunch of 55-65 cm pike. Only a 1 hour drive for us...not worth a 3 hour drive.

If you do decide to go, it can be accessed via the prairie trail on the north side of the lake that loops onto the peninsula. (easy to see on Google maps). We just fished straight out from where we parked the truck.

In fact, my son made a video of our trip there. Here is the link if you would like to check it out. Just a little disclaimer - we had set up by drilling 2 rows of holes about 40 feet apart from each other. After we had been fishing for an hour or two, these two guys showed up and decided to fish between our two rows of tip-ups. We decided to have a little fun with them...

When I was by, there was a 'No Trespassing' sign at the gate off the highway. I stopped at the feed lot across the road to get permission, but the penninsula isn't owned by them. The next time I drove by, the sign was down.
