Taxidermists
Hello everyone, this summer I am going on a large trip and am hoping to get a fish mounted afterwards. Does anyone have any taxidermists that they have gone through and were pleased with? Any recommendation for who to go to or who to avoid? Any input would be great. Thanks

These guys do some of the most incredible work I've ever seen and it allows you to still release the fish.... http://www.advancedtaxidermy.com/
I toured their shop a couple years ago...absolutely outstanding!

Hey, that outfit looks awesome sheep. I have seen some adds in Esox Angler, and Musky Hunter from a guy named Joe Fitante. His predator replicas look unreal, and his paint is awesome. Might be worth a look if its a predator your lookin to chase this summer.
keep a strain on er.

Ya, after seeing their work I wouldn't consider another skin mount.

Advanced is where Dad had his Salmon done.
Its a Reproduction, but those guys did a BANG up job.
I will try and get you a pic in the next while.
The ONLY guys we would ever use.
There was a clown out in Van selling the same sort of thing.
When he said he didn't have a mount for a 48 #er but a 45 or 50 would do and he could ship the next day.... I hung up.
Advanced took the time to do a actually mount off the frozen fish.
Mount came out great.

Great sites guys! I am aiming to put something on my wall this year, God willing!
What can someone expect to pay for a fairly standard mount?

I seem to remember the cost on this was around $850 + shipping.
I did a bunch of research into this before deciding on Advanced.
They are the ONLY people I would deal with for this stuff.
Now I just need to find my own big Salmon.. Damn things are like Elk.. They hate me.
Animals that hate me
Elk
Caribou
BIG salmon
