Default No such thing as a bad day hunting? (Warning graphic)

I ran into the post on social media of someone who submitted this picture from Edmonton. I wonder if this person frequents this site? This is really bad luck... Anyone else had something similar happen to them? Could be a long hike out that's for sure...

Plastic bag, bit of duct tape, a sandwich and drink of coffee, and he's good to go, for the afternoon hunt!

Yikes. that's going to leave a mark. At least with a pass thru he can screw off the broadhead and pull out the shaft. Plug the arrow holes with spruce gum and keep going.

Good reason to wear leather chaps when bushwhacking in the bow zone.

Isn't there a law that arrows have to have your win number on them? Then the bow hunter who lost the arrow might have to pay for the bandaids.

Can't see how the arrow would do a pass through before the guy stopped. You think just a guy's pain reflexes would react before the arrow went thru. Odd that the arrow is in the front of his leg but entered from the side too.

I've found 4 arrows over the years while bushwhacking. Luckily they didn't find me first.

Im thinking this is a fake, lack of blood around the wound, minimal blood on the pants, no blood on the broad head itself. The angle of entry seams suspicious. Anyone that has ever walked into a sharp stick stops shortly after long before it goes all the way through the skin. The broad head looks like a Montec g5. Even if you sharpened it quite well, it would take a lot of force to push it through that amount of flesh.

I thought so too. Probably anti bow hunting propaganda.

I've seen someone open their shin to the bone with a 5 inch flap on a motorcycle peg and it looked similar with no blood...Not why someone would go through the effort of faking this Haha

The exact thing happened to me. An arrow dropped out of my quiver in long grass and it was against my femoral artery...up high and a bit below my groin.
Luckily I felt it the same time as I saw it.

An arrow penetrates with almost zero effort, it’s easy to see how it happened.

Learnt the hard way to always check your carbon arrows. Very low use arrows, but I will admit this one had a Judu tip that shot a chicken.
Manufacturers of arrows say to stress test with a slight bend before shooting.

I would tell people to do the same if it has been shot at something other than a target.

Years ago after seeing similar pictures of carbon arrows going into hands, I developed a horrible flinch with my bow. Took me thousands of arrows to get over that. OUCH!
