Ive got a coke forge I want to put into my shop and I need to get a chimney installed. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’m about 10min north of Onoway.
Thanks
Greg
I just saw some stainless insulated chimney on FB marketplace. When we installed my ceramic wood heater in the house I learned a bit about chimneys from the guy who built it. Longer is better for drawing and stainless is best for coal as it’s acidic and will eat up the regular steel. Insurance is going to hammer you for that in your shop I think.
I actually spoke to my agent and after looking into what I requested there’s no change to my premiums only a record of a coke forge being installed. It
Must be done my a tradesperson though.
Had a Wett inspection done last night by Old London chimney sweep out of okotoks on my wood burner in basement.
Said he does installs, seemed like he knew his stuff.
Could try calling him.
Name is Par.
Northern Duct out of Stony Plain did some chimney work for me a few years ago near Seba Beach. (780) 968-0610. Not sure if he could do it but he would probably know who in the area could.
