Default escaped inmate shot and killed... AMEN

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world...cid=spartandhp

A feel good story of a law abiding gun owner.
Somehow I feel she will be charged with something ridiculous because that is the world we live in now.
I would like to see a media outlet run this story and talk about the positive side of law abiding gun owners.

Cheers,
SS

I was rather surprised to see that posted in Canadian press, though it does tie to female empowerment so I suppose it got by the politburo in that regard.
There should be a reward system in place where citizens who eradicate escaped felons get paid for saving taxpayers money.

There are lots of feel good stories that come out of the US when it comes to armed citizens. When i saw "Canadian Press" i was hopeful it was north of the 49th. Meh....

I have a subscription to SWAT (Survival Weapons And Techniques) and every month they have a section devoted to stories like this that happen in the U.S.
Lots of them...and for some reason they never make mainstream news
And yes...in the U.S. 99% of the time the gun owner faces no charges.

And if this situation occurred in Canada, the convict would be alive, and the lady would likely be dead, because she would not have had a loaded handgun handy.

I couldn't agree more!

"This is the shining example" of why owning and knowing how to use a gun is important, the sheriff said.
Tell that to our useless PM.
Too bad this happened south of the border, could have made great legal president here.

That’s how it should be, doesnt have to be a hand gun either. But you should be able to protect yourself and or property with any means necessary. Good job with that old lady doing the right thing. I hope there is no stupid charges brought up after the fact and great shot!!!

This is what we need in the news. Just this morning we were talking at work about gun laws and how the majority of society is educated by the garbage that they usually air on the news. They should air more stories like this one so the average Joe citizen (maybe never owned or even seen a firearm firsthand) knows about the good side of things.

First of all I'm glad this lady and everyone else involved is safe!! And bravo to her for handling herself in this dangerous and frightful cituation!
