Maybe not on that little one though lol.
That little one I might wrestle but couldn’t bring myself to shoot it

I have killed a lot of big bears it takes a lot to get me excited so they are pretty safe. That said I have never shot a big color phase so there is still that odd one out there that I would gladly put a hole in.

My daughter actually prefers bear meat over deer and is pretty mad dad doesn’t kill a bear every year like I did in Northern B.C.

Who knows maybe I will get the itch it’s still early

This time every year I start to get interested in spring bears.
No Baiting in my area, and really no point going out until first week of May

Last couple of years I've seen more grizzlies than Blacks tho.....

Still fun to get out behind the glass and look around.

Are they out for good by now? Is there a lot of bear seeing?

Any bears down yet??? It's pretty early I know, but give me hope!

I went out today to a new area and didn't see any sign......about 600 whitetail, but no bear. Not much greenery at all, but I don't think it's the area for me either way

She is fun to hunt with. She just loves being there. No worries, no wishing for some other circumstance, she just loves the whole experience. She has hunted hard with me for bear over the last few years and has had the worst luck. Never had a chance. Until last night. And what a bear. Not many bigger get taken in this neck of the woods.

Nice work.

All this moisture should help green things up in the next few weeks. Bears, mushrooms, it's gonna be good.

2 x on what Dean 2 was saying .
Sitting in a stand is not fun , I rather drive in my truck slowly with window down listening to the radio and looking down cut lines and jumping out and doing some walking . Spring is so nice driving around because you will see all the deer and moose with there fawns /calfs . You need to cover as much as land as you can .Always getting out looking for tracks in mud and looking for fresh bear dropping. When you find that ,get out and walk .
Timing is every think . To early in the season and the grass is not green in the cut lines . To late and the grass is green in the bush and they don't need to come out and feed . May long weekend seems to be just perfect . After that if you happen to shoot one the hides are also been rubber out because of hot weather .
Bears almost have the same feeding times as people . 3 time a day .
Morning ,noon and evening . 90 % of my bears have been taken between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm .
Have fun a post picture .

Ps. If you find a bear track , you add on 1 inch to the width , thats how big the bear rug will be in feet . 5 inch wide + 1 inch = 6 ft bear rug
I love taking pictures of a bear track with a bullet in it .

Best season for a bear rug, is in spring .As they had all winter to get a nice coat. Where a fall bear is still not 100 % thick yet .
Best time for meat and lard, is in the fall .Because come spring they have gotten skinny and the fat has been used up from hibernation.

Best time for pre scouting for a spring hunt , is in fall . Because where ever you find them in fall they will be in that cut line in spring time.

Thanks everyone.

My old bear hunting partner and I are back at it. It is a time game and you have to be there to be successful.
