Default On a grey foggy day

I was wondering due to these last few foggy days if anyone got any stories to tell about getting lost or disoriented in foggy conditions....

I remember one time walking back to my truck with two other friends we'd been fishing at a lake that maybe two miles of the road it had started getting foggy earlier but didn't pay much attention only fog lol,we often fished till dark, and it was quite dark now ,so we gathered at the end of the lake and began our trek,it was dark with the fog it was like walking with a blindfold on,and because I knew the trail best ,I took the lead, walking single file on the path,of times I'd run headlong into a tree, and for fun I would step aside and listen to guy behind me do the exact thing and the guy after him, after that we started getting concerned about our journey and how long before we would be before we got back to the truck normally 1/2 hour but this time it took us 2 hours until we seen a vehicles lights on the road, and when we got on the road we weren't sure which direction the truck was in,but we soon figured it out .

On grey days with no sun we have been turned around while sledding the odd time. It's a good time to test your internal compass. Everyone guesses where North or South is, then where the trucks are. Then we pull out the GPS Back in the day I was glad to have a compass along as it showed we were going away from the trucks a couple times.
