Yeah, just woke up and was wondering if that was fog or smoke outside.

Considering all the wild fires north of Edmonton, my guess is the wind blew it in from up there? We've had smoke here from fires in BC before too!

The smoke, my guess, is from the 22 uncontrolled fires burning north of Edmonton and some as close as Thorhild. Be glad your home isn't creating the smoke

Big fire north and west of me up here in Kearl Lake. Smoke up here is very thick. Yesterday it blocked out the sun like it was getting dark out. Today not so bad unless the wind changes direction.

even here in Innisfail the sun is an orange glow.

Better be good by Wednesday night as U2 is on stage at the Commonwealth.

Comming home smelling like a smoked ham from a rock concert is different ofcourse.

Smoky here in Lodgepole as well. We finally get some sun and now it's blocked out.

The SUN!! You mean that big bright thing in the sky? I remember seeing it way back when.
I look like a drowned rat when I get home. I wish the rain would head north.

Just went threw an evacuation plan here at Kearl Lake. At level 1 now. Level 2 is evacuation of site. Level 3 evacuation of area. Lots of smoke. Guess a camp burnt to the west of us yesterday. Don't know whose. No rain forecast.

Things don't look good up here.

Haven't heard about the camp burning, but I do know that many of our contractors at Kearl have been down for a bit, waiting to see what happens.
At Shell/Albion the Jacobs group on projects are gone for now as well.
Visibility was less than 500 meters the other day at Albion.

It's getting smoky in Calgary too...a bit surprising after all the rain we had...the smoke is moving in fast...could it be from up north or is it coming from the west?

Very little smoke in Canmore, but it hits you like a wall as soon as you leave the mountains heading towards Calgary. Must be from the northern fires.

it's been smoky here at firebag, depending on the wind. the fire north of us is gradually making it's way here, against the wind. if we get a northerly wind, it might get interesting, quick.
