Default Great Day On Wabumun Lake

Wabamun lake today was awesome. The Aqua-VU was full of fish and so were our lines. It was like every time you looked up at the Aqua-Vu ,one of our rods were getting hit. We were straight out from the Wabamun Town Site boat launch in 12 feet of water . Walleye, Burbot and the bonus for the day was a big fat White

Tight lines everyone .

Default Jack?

Any big Jack? Only a few years ago fellow anglers I know regularly caught trophy quality Jack at Wabamum.

Been more than a few years for that, more like a decade.

It wasn't unusual to pull out two or three absolute hogs every time out.

Really miss the Wab heyday

It was only 5 yrs ago, 2014 or 2015 winter when 2 of my employees went out to Wabamun almost every other weekend. They would come to work Monday and show me pictures. Every time out they were catching a few pike over 10lbs and they would get at least one each trip that was 15lbs plus. They caught several in the 17-18lb range. Their biggest was just under 23lbs. I unfortunately didn't get out there that winter and the next winter I tried a couple times and could only catch 3 or 4 pike each time, all in the 3 to 5 lb range.

We were out Saturday. Big group of us with a bunch of kiddos. No one was paying much attention to the fishing but the fish were there. We landed a few. They would grab the minnow and at the first sign of resistance they would spit it. On the tip ups only landed 1 but had 7-8 flags go up.
