Probably in the 70's .. they were built from the late 60's to early 90's. With a fair bit of luck you can get the date by Serial number from Google

The Parker Hale was built using the Santa Barbara action usually. A quick google check has a mention of other sources.

Parker Hale supplied sniper rifles to the CAF and NATO and USA, for several decades , basically the same rifle as yours , originally designated the M82 , 7.62 NATO caliber, but with a heavy floated barrel, fibreglass stock and a Kahles 6x scope , I fired thousands of rounds with them, they were superb rifles

Thats awesome to hear! alot of people say its an okey rifle. But ive not missed anything ive aimed for yet. Now, i havent shot alot with i and i still need to do the difference on a 100 m mark. But i feel like its a great rifle, easy to use, no issues so far, especially considering its age.

The numbers/proof marks /date stamps you need are on the bottom left tang below the wood line ,front pillar of the action, take the stock off.

Nice!
My father obtained a 308 Norma mag Parker Hale in the late 60's and it just has been great rifle over the years.
Light weight and the recoil has never been an issue.
I currently use it as the long range go to.
Unfortunately mine isnt as nice looking anymore..lol

Was the same rifle and scope for sale the other day that was identical to yours, was your grandfather selling it or maybe it was one just like, but the scope with illuminated turret is identical.

Either way those are nice rifles.

It's a 1200 Super C, and with the crossbolt, I'd guess 1974-75 going by my Peterboro Guns catalogue.

Default 1200c super clip

these were amazing firearms, i have owned one for 34 years. the biggest issue i
had with it was that it has a rather slow barrel twist(hates anything over 175gr.) it also would not shoot a flat base bullet to save its life (4"-6") almost sold the gun within a month of purchase, picked up a reloading press and lucked out on a load for ground hogs that made me fall in love with this gun, with proper cleaning and reloads this gun will punch one hole groups all day long.mine gun is chambered for 308win and my longest one shot kill was 438yds on a 10 point white tail. the stock trigger on mine is completely adjustable and smooth, my trusty old boomstick sadly has been retired as the groups have since opened up to almost 2", it only gets used now if shots are not going to excede 200yds

Interesting, I briefly owned one and found the santa Barbara action to be my least favorite of all the mausers I have owned. Particularly there was a pin that needed to be driven out in order to get action out of the stock IIRC.

But if you like em' Cat, I guess I might be willing to give them another try some day.

Either way, that rifle is of a higher quality than just about anything you can buy these days for under $1000 or so, in particular IMO the Parker Hale blueing is typically exceptional, enjoy!
