Was out along highway 40 in Kananaskis Country for the day, today. Up to 6" of fresh snow down in some places...weather was hit & miss all day. I found these tracks, but missed the bear. While I would have liked some pictures, these tracks made me a little nervous (I was equipped with bangers and spray -- always am, April-November):

Very cool though, ran into a few bears out that way. A couple WAY to close for comfort and all of them without bearspray or bangers.. Now I always carry the spray...
Last report had 3 feet of snow on the highway at the pass on May 10th.
Was there any snow under the 6 inches of fresh snow where you were?
The road from the South gate usually is clear first.
None. The ground was bare last weekend.
