Default Cheeseburger Pie

Wanted a simple comfort meal for dinner tonight , so I am making a household fav of Cheeseburger Pie.
I used ground beef today, but really is amazing with ground game meat.

1 lb ground beef( substitute venison if handy)
1/2 c chopped onion
1- 8oz tomato sauce
1- 4 oz drained mushrooms( fresh or wild even better)
1/4 c parsley
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp pepper
2 pkg cresent rolls
3 eggs
6 slices cheese
1 tbsp water

Cook beef , onion till browned, drain add tomato sauce, mushrooms, parsley and spices. Unroll one pkg of crescent rolls and seperate. Place in lightly greased pie plate to form a shell bring pastry up and slightly over the rim to form a shell.

Seperate 1 egg reserving yolk and beat that egg white with the remaining 2 eggs.. Pour 1/2 of the egg mixture over the shell and add your meat mixture over that. Arrange cheese slices on top and spread over remaining egg mixture. Mix the single yolk with the tbsp of water and brush on the edge of the pastry.

Unroll 2nd pkg of rolls and place the 8 sections together to form a round top shell and flute the botton and top crusts together with your fingers. Cut some slits in the pastry and brush top with remaining egg yolk , water mixture.

Bake in a pre-heated 350F oven for 20 minutes. Cover loosely with foil and bake a further 20 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Enjoy

Very similar to Sloppy joe pie

Make sloppy joe's up
Place in baking pan, add some shredded cheddar cheese on top then dallop on some bisquick on top and bake until golden.
Serve
enjoy

That is ridiculously funny. I so would have done something like that 30 years ago.
