Default Marcum Showdown sonar

Anybody recommend this? I haven't really used any flashers or sonar for ice fishing before and I'm getting a little tired of fishing blind. I'd appreciate any positive or negative feedback on this product.

I think I'd like to pick one up

Good for run and gun fishing but if you are relatively stationary then go with the larger version that has the case and the larger rechargable battery. Showdowns are great digital flashers and Marcum service is second to none.

Here's my opinion. I have the Marcum flasher that you have the link to. I think it's wonderful. I use it to see how deep the water is before drilling holes. It does show the fish when fishing. Learn the settings as well as the display and your set. It can see the perch and bigger fish. It will show your bait/lure in relation to the water column. The only trouble is that it doesn't tell you where the fish are. LOL. I think it was worth the money I spent on it. Price/usefulness is high I feel. I agree with the other comments though, you may want the higher model for the higher features.

The one thing that it misses is bottom lock, but supposedly there is an upgrade available, from marcum, but I may already have it depending on the model you get.

I like mine but if you can afford more, things like dual beam and such can be useful

I got one and love it. You can buy the optional battery and case as well.

Great little unit and worth the price. I've lent it to a few fellow fishermen this season and they also like it.

I recommend it for sure

Well I guess that just leaves one question....

Has anyone noticed if they ever go on sale at wholesale sports or other south calgary locations?

The last years models are currently on clearance price at south Ed. I'd imagine calgarys location would have them too.

I would spend a few extra bucks and get a flasher. Love my ice 45. Seen some marcums and they may be better.
