Default Opening day? How about 20 minutes?

Head out this morning with my regular hunting partner and my son to a new property that we acquired permission on in 212. We pull up, make a game plan, get to it and there she is, 24 yards away. Go get the arrow and it's bright red, good shot.

We wait about 25 minutes and start tracking it down. My son, who is legal to hunt starting next weekend, leads us in the track of this downed doe. It's takes us a while to find it. When there is blood, there is lots, but then not much for a little bit, and follows that pattern. We finally get it and Chase is elated. He can't wait to come and get his own. He really wants his first deer to be an archery deer.

By the way, this is my big game with archery gear. I am happy about that.
