need help for mountain whites and torut up in Spray

I'm a big noob at fishing for mountain whites and trout, don't know where to fish and what to use and if I should use a boat.

I would say with a boat is better. I have tried a few times from shore and never caught anything, but I guess would all depend on time of year etc. I was going for lakers and never targeted the whites. There are lots of threads on this site about Spray that were very useful for me when heading out at first.
