Pembina river fishin

Thinking of taking the wife for a little day trip for some fishin in the pembina up by barrhead.

Any helpful insight on the area for fishin? Anyone been up there this year and have any luck?

I’ve fished it further down by Fawcett this year and I caught probably 20 walleye in a couple hours casting a yellow jig with a black head, no bait. Most were small but I caught 2 over 50cm.

Not only lookin to keep, but hoping for a steady bite as I’m trying to get her interested. Water pretty murky this time of year?

Ya it’s murky, but the fish were biting like crazy. If you can find a stream or hole you’ll be into fish I’m sure.

No worries. If you figure you’re going to head further north let me know and I can show you a couple spots. The mouth of the Pembina is probably pretty good for a few more weeks.
