Default Looking for a dead electric trolling motor

I am on the hunt for a non-functional electric trolling motor. My plans are to remove the head unit and use the clamping mechanism and the bottom housing to hold my fish finder transducer. I am going to be renting a boat so can't permanantly attach the fish finder. I haven't been able to find something similar that doesn't feel like junk and not sure that I want to trust a suction cup. I am out in the Sherwood Park area. If you have a old unit plugging up your garage that you would be willing to part with let me know. Thanks in advance.

PS - open to any other suggestions that you might have if you have faced this before.

I use a small board and a c-clamp for a portable setup.

My original Minn Kota that I got in 1982 bit the dust last year. You are welcome to have it for free if we can arrange to get it from Jasper to you.

Tite Loc might have what you need:

or

Bass pro also carries them.

Or maybe a Scotty Kayak mount? May not be long enough though.

i used a suction cup for a few years with no problem. Attached a piece of cord to it and the boat just in case it came off.

Thanks everybody for their help. I am not heading out Jasper way so will need to pass on the offer but thanks. I have decided to use a suction cup as it seems like most people have good luck with them. Still don't totally trust them so going to build a DIY unit using a board which I will use as a back up in the event that the suction cup doesn't work.
