Default Gas 1.239 in Lloydminster 1.039 Vegreville 06/05/19 $.979 06/13/19 $.919 Nisku

I went to Edmonton Sunday, brought 400L home, doing the same tomorrow. It's enough of a difference that it is definately worthwhile.
With the provincial carbon tax being scrapped June 1 I am slightly hesitant but apparently when the provincial tax is dropped a federal one kicks in. Cant win the war but can win a few small battles here and there.

Did you not know the federal one kicked in if/when the provincial one got cancelled? And ya, that money will go to Ottawa and be redistributed primarily to Quebec and Ontario, just like "transfer payments", rather than staying here in Alberta.

What did you think was going to happen?

You figured that out by me saying 'apparently' huh?

Not sure how else I could have said I was unaware.

The money never stayed in Forgottaberta anyway, it was always destined to go east.

When you come to Rupert bring some along. Regular was $1.469 and diesel was 1.409 in Port Edward today. Notice I say ‘was’. The long weekend is coming so who knows.

Was discussing fuel pricing tonite with a fella that works nites later than me. He made a point, that he noticed some 24hr gas stations were raising prices late in the evening and dropping them again in the AM, claims he has noticed it with three different stations. He comes to work at 10;00pm and goes home at 4;00am.
Be interested to see if anyone else has seen that. I saw 115.9 to 123.9 spread tonite in 4 stations that are usually within a penny of each other, all within 1 mile of each other, and over the last couple of months, were .03 to .07 cheaper than stations in my area.
Does make you wonder.

Yes they have been doing that all year now. Had a big discussion the other day on the local Facebook rant and rave. Late at night it goes up a few cents and down again for the morning rush.

Yup I fueled up twice in Vegreville over the past weekend both going and coming home from Edmonton , both times it was 104.9, .20 per liter is a nice touch but you can bet it will jump today or tomorrow as the long weekend is almost here folks

I always wonder if its worth it to drive for gas/diesel.. if your going through sure makes sense but I hear of people in Vancouver heading to the states for gas.. and I am skeptical on savings.. Someones car started on fire and they were transporting a large amount in Jerry cans, think this happened last week.

Gas 1.239 in Lloydminster 1.039 Vegreville
1.239-1.039 = 20c savings
.2c x 400L = 80$ savings

Distance round trip Lloyd to Vegreville = 300km
Assuming 15L/100km 45L of fuel used
45L x 1.039 = 43.96$ to make trip
80-43.96 = 36.04$ savings if your only doing the trip for gas.

If your passing through makes sense, don't know if Id make the trip just to save 36 dollars and spend 3 hours driving. Could pay off more when gas prices keep rising over the summer.. Rather be riding the bike than making trips for gas. Guess you got to ask yourself how much is your own free time worth. Do you have a tank at home to store all the gas? Can I fill up at your place this summer at a discount when gas gets up to $1.80 ?

I would not drive for fuel. I only do it when I am going through. The last time there was a huge drop, a couple years ago when it hit .67 I bought about 5000 litres of gas and diesel. I got a bunch of 205l oil drums and ran a long time without buying fuel. Today I will only grab another 500l, marginal savings but sure nice to have like you say when it goes stupid high.

Is it legal to have 205 liter drums filled with gasoline? I thought single wall was a no go?

If your planning to come to red Deer any time soon and want to save a few bucks fill up with fuel before or after you get here. Highest prices for fuel in Alberta.

I noticed it was higher there than in Calgary or Edmonton when I drove through on Sunday. I always top up in Edmonton and bring a jerry can or two as it generally beats Calgary price by a nickel or so.

Had a chuckle driving through Spruce today, filled up at the Shell by CT at .979/L. The Tempo is usually 3 cents cheaper than everyone, they were at 1.009. 51L for $50, I likes that.

Nothing just kicks in. We are carbon tax free for awhile until Turdo gets
his tax ridden hands out again. Hopefully not too soon.

Default Gas in Lloyd today 115.9

Lloydminster has different rules for gas prices because it is divided by two provinces during the 80's gas wars were killing business so they came up with an agreement to keep prices the same on both sides of the border.
The prices are still set by the cartel keeping prices slightly above normal for both provinces.

Cartel:an association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition.

My advice is to fill up before you hit Lloyd.

Was 96.4 by my house during the day, back to 1.04 at night yesterday. Dropped into the high 90's a few times this week. Next drop into the 90's and the 136L truck tank gets filled
