Anyone have experience with Chesapeakes? I find them very impressive, though I’ve heard they can be hard headed and sometimes aggressive.

Another bad year for pheasants. Overall still very dry down south and not much water and absolutely no cover due to the need to open up more grazing areas due to no rain. Still a great time though.

If you think cover is light this year you should have seen last year. Its like a jungle out there now compared to a year ago.

I noticed no real difference in my areas. Locals said the smoke this summer really made everything worse. I’ve been going to the Patricia hotel for 20 years and no new hunters have come along since. It used to be jammed in there back in the day, now it’s 1/5 of what it used to be. Kinda sad....
Here’s hoping to better weather and cover next year

I noticed a big change in scenting conditions with the smoke and yes it was still very dry down here. Near the end of august we got a few days of good rain, the smoke cleared, and suddenly we were finding birds; or what was left of them.

Bird counts show populations are down 50-60 percent in southern alberta.

Well Cassie and I wanted one more Hunt to call it a season
we did it up in fine style with a limit of honkers and beautiful weather and evening
Until next spring when snow geese return the big geese can say it's safe in this area,
It was a fine evening with a great companion and friend,
as we sat on the tail gate of the old jelloppy long after our hunt had ended and looking back on a very special and spectacular season watching the moon rise in the east and the setting sun in the west and watching the sky's moving with hundreds of thousands of geese
I couldn't help to think that at times like this
that god was a waterfowler at heart
and really appreciating that we all live in a very spectacular part of the world ,

We've had some slow days, but this fall is going pretty well:

Nice pictures of nice dogs. Since this is a hunting dog thread...
I've always wondered if anyone uses Besenji dogs for hunting birds or bunnies? They are a natural hunting dog originating from Africa. They will naturally work back and forth to flush. They don't bark either.

My big guy gets bored after one bird or less. Handy to have around if someone falls in the water though!

All pictures are great. These pictures are the ones that we should post and be proud about. Hard for all the non-hunters to rain down it is all about trophy hunting with these pictures.

Those goggles are Rex Specs and my company sells them, all about getting the pups used to them early on! She's a great pup for sure!
