Default Got my Bull!

Shot this bull on Thursday. He is a 6 by 9, but three points are broken off. A neighbor has the sheds from two years ago, so we are going to use that as a template to have the three broken points added back on. The royals are 26 inches long! My boys were pretty excited about it, and watched the whole time I gutted it out, even though it was -30.

beautiful bull! hope you have more sheds to carve up for repairs. seems a shame to use the sheds off that bull......well, or maybe cool. it is his after all....

either way congrats.

he is going to just use the sheds as a template, but will use epoxy sculpt to make the points. I am actually trying to see if the guy will sell me the sheds, and maybe put them on one of those artificial european skull mounts.

Ya, I wasn't worried about the broken points until I saw the sheds, and then I decided I gotta get it fixed. I will post some pics after the repairs.

Very nice bull, amazing how a bit of bad weather can help the hunting. Were your boys in on the shot?

x2....gotta love busted up old points. Its how he was when he was shot, no different than if he grew a big old drop tine or had issues when he was in velvet....just adds to the stories!

if thats what you like thats cool. clearly that bull grew a lot more than what is there now. i understand a guy wanting to see the full amount of what should be there and definitely dont look down my nose at it. although i have never repaired any points on my own stuff, i have helped out guys who wanted theirs fixed. on this bull, i would likely want him fixed up too.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I thought alot about the broken points, but in the end those sheds and the split second point just looks to cool. Like ishootbambi said, I would like to see the rack with all the growth that should have been there. Dave from foothills taxidermy is going to fix the points for me, and I know he will make it look great.
