Default West Lake, Crooked lake and Toobally lake

Trip in to the old Smith River Airforce Base. Hunting, Fishing, and exploring around. My father was stationed here about 60yrs ago. West lake is full of Lake Trout and Grayling, Crooked Lake is full of Pike. Toobally Lake is up across the BC Yukon Border, about a 3hr ride from the AF Base, its also full of monster pike. Not much left there but some old buildings, foundations, and the partially overgrown Airstrip. Dad always liked to tell the story of a Bomber that landed there, it was only running on 2 engines. It could not take off with 2 engines, so they strapped some "Solid fuel rocket boosters" to the bomber as a little extra push. Dad always had tears of laughter running down his cheeks as he said, that bomber didn't even get to halfway on the strip when it took off and went straight up like a G2A missile

Anyway, here are some pics

This is where my brother just about died. That tree ran through the cooler handle, straight towards his face, he JUST managed to turn his head as the point went past his face, scraping through his lips. No real damage, but his lips were numb for a half hour, and I saw him feeling his lips for the next 2 hrs as though he couldn't believe they were still there.
