Default Leupold vx3 or vx5 HD

Hello everyone is there a noticeable difference in glass quality between the Leupold vx3 and the vx5 HD ? Scopes looking at 2 models one is a vx3 for 750 $ other is a vx5 HD for 1600 $ don’t mind spending the cash if it’s worth it . Thanks

VX5 all day. Mike at Highland arms sells them for 1450.

The weight, clarity, and locking elevation turret make the VX5 a solid unit. I have mine with the Impact 29 reticle. I like how i can make adjustments quickly at the range using the reticle. The open area where the cross hair converges is nice in lower light since the animals lighter fur really pops through it.

I agree. I have had both the VX-3 and VX-5 lineups. My current go-to rifle wears a VX-5HD 3-15x44mm, and its a great balance of clarity and ruggedness at a good price. When they first hit the market they were going for around $1250, at least that is what I paid Dale at Shooters Choice in Vulcan.

As a testament to how solid the scope is, all I can say is that my rifle went for quite a ride during a horseback hunt last fall. After getting it back to the range the scope was off a bit left, but adjusted fine back to zero and has held it every trip out since. I was expecting it to be completely destroyed, and it was a nice surprise that it wasn't.
