Default Longshot - Does anyone have a Remington 700 model B&C type stock??

Hey guys. I know this is a longshot, but I have a rifle that is proving to be very finnicky. It has a tupperware stock that I think may be the culprit behind the inconsistency I am seeing. Before I go bedding this tupperware jobby, I would like to drop it in a stiff stock with the best loads I have developed to see if it makes a difference. I know it's a heckuva longshot, but if anyone has a Rem 700 short action stock that is gathering dust that you would allow me to try, I'd be super appreciative.

I have a HS Precision sporter stock you could play with. It is/was bedded to a barreled action I don't have anymore.

I could pull the Greybull Precision stock off my 223 and let you try it.

Default Thanks fellas

Thanks so much for the gracious offer guys. Today finally resulted in finding the magic combo. 5 shots. 0.39 moa.

Moral of the story is do not write off a rifle easily. I was ready to until the code was cracked this afternoon.

The wind was from the right, and was likely moving the bullets one click.

This one is fussy, and it seems to prefer the 147eldm in front of H4350. The 142 Matchking in front of R-17, was almost as good. I was loading both bullets to fit the magazine, which made for a long jump to the lands.

About .100". That is what I like about the CTR, I can load to the lands, but as long as I can find a load that shoots, the amount of jump really doesn't matter. But it is ironic that being able to load to the lands, and still fit the magazine, was one of the supposed advantages of the 6.5CM.
