Default Looking for good commercial BBQ Sauce

What is your Go-To?
A bottle last 2-3 years around here. Will only be used for Pulled Pork/Pulled Chicken Sandwiches. I prefer lower sugar sauces.Usually just make my own, but want to have something unique and tasty on hand as I am laying down cryovac pacs of smoked pulled meat for the freezer for quick meals later in the year.

Last bottle was Cattleboyz I bought 2017 and finally finished, but found it wanting.

Any suggestions?

I like Sweet Baby Ray's original for pulled pork and on my Venison sausage, all my buddies like it on the venison, usually easy to find and cheap.
It has a nice little pepper after bite to cut the bit of tangy sweetness.

x2 on Sweet Baby Ray's for pulled pork or smoked ribs. It's sweet though...

My other favorite brand is Rufus Teague's, there are a variety of flavors and all are really unique and tasty. Not as sweet as most other commercial brands and some flavors are pretty spicy as well.

I'm not a fan of Cattleboyz. I bought a costco size bottle once and most of it ended up in the garbage.

X2 I used to make my own and bought SBR on a whim. I no longer make my own.

Default Sauce

I like Guy Fieri Kansas Style BBQ sauce.

He also has a Sweet Mesquite that is quite good.

Got them at Costco.

Budweiser sauce is the best one for me. It’s now hard to get in Canada and my last batch I got sent from the states.

Sweet Baby Rays is our go to when we don’t have homemade in the fridge. I made 8L for our wedding last October and I just finished up the last of it. Couldn’t you just adjust a recipe for a smaller batch and keep some on hand? I whip up a batch in 1/2hr and keep it in a mason jar in the fridge.

Always have, but I am getting tired of cooking.
Bought the Cattleboyz for a New Years Brisket party a few years ago.
Never liked it and cut it 20% with Gochujang to make it palatable to my taste.
But that is gone now.
Will try some of the suggestions presented.

Most of my home made BBQ sauces have been coffee based over the years.
But trying to be less creative as I begin the slow steady march towards the grave

You can get sweet and sour sauce or teriyaki sauce in bulk from The Wholesale Club. I like that on chicken and pork. I also like making my own special recipe of honey mustard.

We don't use a lot of BBQ sauce BUT we have been buying and trying brands recently, and my wife, not long ago watched America's test kitchen and they named Bulls Eye the best overall BBQ sauce as choosen by panelists.

This show usually gets most recommendations correct.

So .....We went out and bought Bull's Eye (we haven't in years) and you know what? It was much better than other brands.

https://www.splendidtable.org/story/...barbecue-sauce

If you scroll down to bottom of article, it covers the characteristics of each of the sauces tested (and many mentioned in this thread).

Rufus Teagues' close second pick to SBR's sauce, little harder to find here in the Hat though. It's worth picking up for the back story and it's tasty.

I usually make my own using the recipe's from the Book on Big Bob Gibson. If I'm in a rush I use Bullseye. We have tried most of the other ones mentioned but for our taste Bullseye is our favorite.

After trying SBR's I'll never buy anything else. All the rest are just ketchup to me.

I hear you about cooking less... it gets a bit much after um 25/30 years in the kitchen.

Bbq sauce is one of the things I still like to make, if I have to buy it cattleman’s is ok but I always add ketchup etc. to reduce the sharpness. I like to taste meat not sauce.

Default Sonny's Real Pit BBQ Sauce

I lived in Texas and Florida for a while.

North of the 49 no one really understands what BBQ is.

For the best BBQ restaurant in North America, if you are ever in San Antonio or Austin, try County Line. They DO NOT sell their BBQ Sauce, on purpose. I have tried to buy some, even from the kitchen itself, to no avail.

As for Florida, skip Disney and go straight to Sonny's Real Pit BBQ.

If you do not end up with a pork chop stuck in your Aorta, then on the way out grab as many bottles of the Sonny's Real Pit BBQ that you can stuff into your luggage, and skip the rest of the shopping.

Nothing like it.

Drewski

Bull's-Eye Guinness for beef.
Bull's-Eye Honey Garlic Bonanza for pork and chicken.

Always a fan of Heinz 57. Growin up in Saskabush, and eating at Bonanza all the time I developed a hankering for that slop. Nowadays if I am ambitious i like to add horseradish to it.

Feels weird to say but I like the Kraft original with pork. HP with beef/wild steak. Dianna’s with Chicken. One sauce to go with all is Hy’s Teriyaki.

My opa only ever used Kraft bbq sauce, and I never had a bad bbq there.
Last bottle I saw there was hickory flavor.

2 or 3 years on a bottle? Yikes! I stopped using store bought BBQ sauce when I got food poisoning from using a bottle that was out dated by a month. Make it as I need it now.

Sobey’s and IGA carry a line called Spirited Mickie.

I really like the Dark and Stormy Rum and Spice sauce.

Stubbs sticky sweet or rufus Teague. Sweet baby Ray's is far too sweet and corn syrup like taste imo
