Default Keho Lake whitefish??

I was out at Keho and was using a small bucktail jig trying to catch some walleyes on my new kayak. Just as my bucktail hit bottom I hooked up and was surprised to see that a huge whitefish(4-5lb) took my bucktail. The whole day I caught nine whitefish and two walleye on the same jig.

Its that time of year. As the water cools Whitefish push towards spawning areas and become more aggressive. Much easier to catch as they are no longer suspended deep.

No secret that big whitefish eat minnows. Cleaned hundreds over the years from wabamun back in the day. Big ones often had perch minnows. Same with Gull, Pigeon, etc.

Now for some real fun. Take a GOLD KASTMASTER, Toss it out and let it sink to the bottom in a sandy area. snap it back to the boat and let it sink. At the boat, lift it slowly and jig it a bunch letting it hit the bottom and lifting each time.

Thank me later.
