Default Pin collectors ???????

Went through a bunch of stuff today.

Found 75 nice quality assorted collectible pins ( lapel pins ).

Is there any places or people who are interested in this stuff????

Pins are from towns/companies/some are funny sayings/sporting events.

Or should they just hit the bin?

I remember seeing a news piece about people that collect Olympic pins and they seemed quite "involved".

I'd try googling some of the pins you have and see if you can find them on eBay or something and see what they're worth roughly. You might have $3 worth of pins, or maybe a $1000.

This thread is touching a nerve. My Father recently passed and he has literally thousands of pins that he has collected in the last 80 years. I don't know what I'll do with them, but I'm not just going to throw them away. Here's a pic of some. IMG_1893.jpgIMG_1892.jpg

Default Thanks guys

I am near Edmonton.

There are some that are no doubt collectable. Calgary Olympics. Universiade etc.

The rest are from towns cities etc.

Don't know why I kept them around. Don't know that I will.
See if I can figure something out with everyone's help.

I will appreciate the input I get from here

Generally tons are made of each. A few are limited. Pins generally are purely sentimental to the collector.

This is likely the truth of my matter.

Have a few jars of pins still, along with some framed sets. I worked for an ad agency and designed most of the pins, posters, print for the 88 games.

Default Donate to a Scout Troop

Keep the ones you like and give the rest to a scout troop. Scouts love to go to Jamborees and pin and badge trading is a big part of that.
