Default Gift for baptism

Hello all,

Friends of my wife and I had asked us to be Godparents to their son and I am not sure of what to get him for a gift.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The gift of precious metals or gems. I like to give a nice coin or coin set from the year the baby was born or for other events like baptisms. A nice encased silver dollar is reasonable and a nice keepsake. The royal canadian mint probably has a coin for every event. Lots to check out on their website.

Default Bible

You could give the child a childrens bible for them for when they get a bit older. It also lets the parents read to the child. You can get them a real bible as they might come to cherish it knowing that they have had it since they were very young, it becomes an hierloom to them.

A cross of some kind is also nice to decorate the childs room.

A gold cross pendant for when they get older.

Hope you found these answers helpful.

I still have my 76 coins I got from my grandparents. I’m checking those coins out as I write this. Definitely a great momento that always sticks around.

Like stated the silver dollars are an awesome gift, as well a nice pewter piggie bank with the date put on it is cool too, you can load up the piggie bank with coins from the baptism year.

Get him this!

https://www.christianbook.com/esv-st...2440?event=AAI

Quite possibly if he reads it some day, he may discover why he's been baptized, what it means and what is required of him someday! I'm serious!

Best present in the world, especially for such an occasion! Get a leather one and get his name engraved on it too.
