shooting jacket repairs
Anybody know of a good heavy duty tailor/ tack repair person that can sew some straps onto my old Anschutz jacket?
The original buttons are all but gone, and the jacket I have been using for 5 years or more is almost kaput- it was well used when I acquired it!
The jacket is very heavy leather and lined, so a standard patching machine will not do.

What about a shoe repair shop? They use thick leather and I’m sure their machine is adequate.

Saint Albert is the closest one.
I think there is still a leather repair shop in Clyde however.

Talk to Vic Bennet Custom Saddles in Sherwood Park. He has the equipment to do the work and he does exceptional leather work.

My neighbor Myles does all kinds of leatherwork, from making wallets and belts, to repairing upholstery or redoing mechanical bull hides, saddlebags etc.
You can check out some of his work google "little lion man leather" or check instagram, or if you want his cell you can PM me.
He did a wallet with salmon leather the other week believe it or not, and helped me to make a set of mitts (buckskin, muskrat, shearling)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
I may be that my 10X is beyond feasible repair from what I have seen on the Internet for a synthetic new one or a quality used one .
My Anschutz jacket may be able to be repaired here in Ft Mac by my tailor .

Then tailor in town was able to fix one jacket, and I found some big buttons and broke out my old stitching awl to fix the other as he did not have the needles needed to punch through the thick leather of the Anschutz jacket.
Emergency diverted!
