iPhone 5S bell mobility LTE
Hi there just got my me iPhone 5S a few days ago and while I have no complaints I thought I would check with others.
My phone seems to only have 2 of 5 bars sitting here right now it flutters down to one and up to three occasionally but for the most part no matter where it's on two bars.
I have never dropped a call and when I dial out or get a call it jumps up to the full five bars.
Is there a problem or have others noticed this and is it some sort of battery conserving thing the phone does?
Thanks,
Mike

Same on TELUS with an iPhone 5. On LTE ill get only 2-3 bars but when it switches to 3G ill get full bars. Wont matter anyways as its for data so you shouldnt see dropped calls.

Lost an iPhone 5 a couple weeks ago in a cab so replaced it with a 5s. Used the same charger as with the original 5 I had and had no problems. Managed to wreck the cord for it so dug out the charger from the box the phone came in , plugged it in and it says. " cord not verified, not optimized for iPhone. Awesome, a 700 dollar phone and apple can't even provide a charger that works. I use it for hands free through my truck, and of course when I need the charger I'm nowhere near an actual phone store. So 3 different gas station stops later and 3 different chargers at 20 bucks a pop I finally get one that works , even though it still says may not be optimized for iPhone. Seriously annoying, could charge my old non apple phone with any micro USB.

Have you tried a hard reset? When ever my iPad or iPhone gets buggy I do one and it always works for me.

The charger still works, it just says its not supported by Apple. Not a big deal, use mine all the time but the message is a bit annoying.

I had a similar issue when I updated my brand new iphone 5, three weeks after I bought it and they came out with the 5s. Anyways when my phone was not plugged in I was getting the same message as you. If I plugged it in everything was fine. The new updates they have released have fixed my problems completely. I would check and see if there are new updates for your phone.
Have had iPhones since the start, and this is the very first issue I've had. And when I called them they offered to replace the phone if the problem continues.
My phones get extremely abused on the farm. And all my old phones are still functioning. One broke in half and fell into hydraulic oil. I put it back together with some oil still in there and now it's used as an iPod in my truck.
Hope you figure out your issue.
As for the LTE, my telus phone is the same.

No updates for the phone, that's all good to go. I did find one charger that works, but still says the message. However the apple charger itself is the one that doesn't work after saying the message. I will take it in to Apple when I get a chance, but it's pretty annoying when you're on your way to a rig wondering how you're going to keep in touch with work and people at home because your factory supplied charger doesn't work. Thanks for the advice guys. The reboot never worked either for it , maybe the charger is a dud.
