I have a Blackberry Leap cell phone.
It can be a real pain when you're out hunting and somebody has to get hold of you. Sometimes you have to get calls or messages.
Well on my Blackberry, I can assign any music that I want as a ringtone.
What I did is I looked up Youtube videos of bird songs; Chickadees, Nuthatches, Jays etc... and used
http://www.converttoaudio.com/ to convert them to MP3 format.
Then saved the files and copied them onto my Blackberry.
Now every 'ringtone' I have is a bird song.
When my wife or buddy texts me, it's no big deal, cuz it just sounds like a Chickadee, Woodpecker, Magpie etc... doesn't alarm the wildlife.
So if you have a Blackberry cell phone, it's a pretty cool deal (imho).
Funny story, from yesterday.
I went out, hung a treestand, then I was swapping out the memory cards on my trail cameras.
I saw a few Chickadees flitting about, feeding on seeds n stuff, so I whipped out the Blackberry and played the Chickadee song, just to see their reaction.
Well the Chickadees were drawn right in to the call.
And then the most amazing thing happened...
A small white moth came flying by me.
One of the Chickadees saw this moth and immediately flew after it.
Just so incredible to see! The moth's flight was so erratic, flitting up and down and the Chickadee was just going all over trying to catch it.
It took about 3 runs at that moth before the Chickadee managed to catch it in mid-flight in it's beak!
It then flitted over to a branch, landed and devoured the moth.
It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen in the bush.
(maybe I lead a sheltered life... haha!)
