New city springing up

Drove the road between Claresholm and Highway 22.... Boys are busy setting their camps up. The Porkupine Hills will soon be "alive" with the sound of.....gunshots.

Whats more impressive is when the "cities" of ice fishing shacks pop up, like the one at Gull every year.

What's it like down there? Like land wise and that lots of game?

Last season the porcupines were overrun with hunters. Decent amount of game in there, and I've seen some dandy whitetails but they get pushed around like crazy. The WMUs in that area are great for muleys and moose but tags are a 5 and 10 year wait respectively. Overrun with elk in the late season but good luck finding a legal bull. Grouse galore.

I don't bother hunting it because I don't like all the competition, but to each their own.
