Default Unwanted Bear Meat

Hi I don't know if this is the right spot for it, but if anybody is going bear hunting and doesn't want the meat I would be interested in it. PM if it could work for you. Three Hills.

Why not go after one yourself? If all you are concerned with is meat and not age they really aren't that hard of a critter to find especially right now.

When there are so many bears shot where the meat isn't harvested I think this is a great idea. There are lots of guys looking to get rid of the hide and probably many more looking to get rid of the meat. If a guy knows there are folks interested it would be an easy way to accomplish goals for both parties. I think this thread could easily serve the purpose of those looking for either to post up on. Kind of like the old pony express thread or the one about "I found a great deal" that is still running.

Yea, if someone didn't want it no reason not to give. Only, Issue, who's going to pack it out to give it away?

I agree with you 100% Dean. If there is a hunter who does not want the meat, I would like to think that arrangements can be made..Hopefully Covid has not eliminated our ability to help a neighbor and the making possibly, of a new friend...Great idea Dean..
.I would like to see this come about more often..haha

Default I should be able to hook you up...

Hi There,

Funny you should post this actually. I'm scheduled to be heading up North early June for a few days to my favorite black bear spot.

We normally get 2 or 3 grass and dandelion fed bears (no bait) and my buddy who's coming with me doesn't normally like the meat. I've kept it myself or given it away in the past when he got a big bear with me - and I suspect he probably doesn't want it this time either. (We never waste it - just to be clear).

I personally love black bear meat (best tacos and spaghetti meat there is in my opinion!) and it's great for sausage as well. But I already have some in my freezer and we normally get at least a couple of good sized bears.

If you send me a PM we can connect and I can likely get you some very soon. Normally this public post would be the biggest jinx on my hunt ever - but I'm not super concerned about my luck where I'm going.

Cheers.

This seems like a great idea. Personally I have not hunted bears for 30 years for this exact reason. I do not eat the meat and have no use for the hide as I already have my bear rug. I would be out there hunting if I knew I could make use of anything I killed. I miss the times I used to get out in the spring and roam around.
By the way I am now thankful for the spring snow goose hunt it was great.Got out with my nephew and his son for a few days. Not a lot of success but a great adventure
DammI am wandering again sorry.
