They are attached to the intestine wall. Also found them crawling through the flesh. Pushing on them with my finger dislodged them. Aaaah. Yuck. Made my wife gag.

I believe thats called a pyloric cacea unless im not seeing the worms in the picture. Its a part of their natural anatomy. If the fish has worms the worms will likely be inside their intestines and in some cases moving around when you cut them out. Their eggs or parasitic cysts will be in the meat forming little black and white hard balls that look kind of like poppy seeds. As long as your not eating raw fish you have nothing to worry about. I think i do see one worm though. Draped over the intestine/stomach.

The ones i found in flesh were little thin stringy things longer than these cysts attached to intestine.
These cysts were quit a bit shorter and thicker. But they dont look normal to me. But im no white expert. Nor do i plan to be.

Looks like these could be the pyloric cacea in this image. . Lake whites are supposed to have them now that i googled it. Thanks for pointing this out. Thought it was from the worms. Did see the worms in the flesh though.

This summer the ones i saw were all in the intestine sqwirming around. Whites have not been kind to me.

No prob i didn't know what they were until recently. Only reason i know what they are is because i recently caught a splake, and couldn't tell if it was a brook trout or not. I googled it and one source said if you count the number of them you can distinguish if they are brookie, splake, or laker. Apparently they have them as well.

I have caught bulls (locals call them dollys) at Kootenay with thin parasites (looks like a thin small maggot) on their anal fins.

Right back in they went .......gross ........
