Default 375 H&H load data

Just got my first 375 last night. It's a Brno model 602 cw/ 1.5-5X24 VX-III. Going to hunt brown bear in Alaska and was thinking of using 300gr Swift A-Frame. Or would it be better to go with 270gr?

What is everyone using for lead/powder etc.

Thanks.

300gr Hornady Interlock RN 75gr IMR 4350. in my ZKK 602 I seat it at SAAMI plus .040". Unbelievably accurate and not a max load.

Thanks Unreg.

Yes I do know that what may be good for one might not be good for another. Just wanted to see what others are doing.

Twer it me....it would be a 270 gr. Premium, but a 300 would work very good as well (leave the Hornadys for non-Dangerous Game).

For my AK Brown Bear hunt this Fall, I am loading 350 gr. Barnes X (Standard X) in my .416 Rem. Mag.

I havent shot a .375 for a few years now, but you would be well suited with any of these.....Woodleigh, North Fork, Nosler Part., Swift A-Frame, TBBC. I may have left out a few others, but you can get my point. Use a Premium Bullet.....Cheapest part of any Hunt.

Pick a Bullet you like, I'm sure you can find a way to get it to work out in your BRNO. You dont really need "Unbelievable Accuracy" in a .375, good 100 yard accuracy is fine, and you will likely achieve it with any of the above. Most AK Guides wont let you shoot past 150 yards anyhow.

Kutenay has lots of experience with the .375, If he doesnt respond to this, maybe shoot him a PM, I'm sure he would help you out.

ps Gamehunter, I think this IS part of his research, he didnt ask for a particular load, he asked what people were using for Bullets & Powder.

Good luck & have fun figuring it out!

I'm going with Gary Larose on the Penisula. I was originally going to go with Phil Shoemaker (about 150 air miles North/East of where I am going), but he didnt have an opening until '09. This Hunt came up as a discounted cancellation, through a Booking agent Friend. I called about 15 references & all gave rave reviews, on Bear numbers, Bear size and Professionalism so I decided I would save about $8000 and book this Hunt.

Cant wait.

Would you have an email address or website for Gary?

Good luck on your bear hunt, hope to see some pics posted.

Thanks.

John.
