Default Hand Loads for a 300 Wby Mag

I'm wonder if anyone out there does any hand loading for there 300 Wby Mag if so if they have any loads that work well for them in there Mark V. I'm going to be shooting mostly Deer and Elk with this rifle. I was thinking about Nolser Accubonds or Barnes TSX in 180 grain Let me know what you guys think.

I use the max load listed in the latest Nosler Manual for 180 grain Accubonds w/ IMR 4831. I load them with the longest overall length that the magazine will allow. I have not experimented too much with other powders because I haven't ran out of IMR 4831 yet as I have lots of it (my 270 Weatherby likes it a lot). I am planning to try IMR 7828 in the 300 Weatherby this summer. I've loaded Nosler partitions 180gr, Nosler Accubonds 180gr and Speer Grand Slam 165 gr in my 300 and so far it seems to shoot the Accubonds the best.

My 300 Weatherby is the Mark V Utralight w/ the factory Bell & Carlson stock and the factory Kreiger Criterion 26" barrel. It shoots pretty well with the above load but I think I can do better if I keep experimenting.

Let us know how you make out.

Chet

Jurban;
I have a 700 BDL Rem Mnt Rifle in 300 Wby mag. It likes IMR 7828 around 85 grains behind a 180 gr. nosler protected point partition bullet. Deadly on moose and elk. I think the 180 gr barnes TSX and Hornady Interbonds would also deserve some experimenting. The advantage of the interbonds are they are about half the cost of the TSX bullets.
Good Luck

i had a rem sendero in 300wby.
max load with IMR7828 worked great for me. it was the most accuarate cf i have ever owned.
IMO,one of, if not the best 30 cal ever, but...it hurt to shoot it, so moved a 257wby and havent looked back

as a wise man once told me (Dick) , each gun can shoot each recommended load differently, so best to try different loads out of your gun and fine tune them to fit the worst is when people advise max loads
