Snowy Owl Photos....
A great day yesterday.... we found 13 Snowy Owls! A personal best for me... Thought I would share a few pics of what we saw. I'm not a fan of shooting them on power poles, but you take what is presented. An incredible bird.

I saw quite a few more than I usually do in the hunting season in November too, all of them perched on utility poles like that.

Great pics...thanks for sharing. Utility poles seem to be the perch of choice.

Nice pics & thanks for sharing.
Took in an "owls and coffee" presentation on the weekend @ The Camera Store. Guy (Rob Hadlow) had some great snowy owl photos (+most other AB owls).
Line up out the door & standing room only-cause every one loves owls.

Thanks for sharing, we saw two on the weekend but didn't get any pictures.
It's little things like these we love about Alberta, before we immigrated most of the animals we can now see in the wild we only saw on TV or in the zoo.

Thanks for sharing ttankster... those sure are btfl birds. Do you mind saying what general area those are from? We used to see them south of Brooks a lot in the winter when working out there... almost always on power lines scanning for rabbits etc.

Thanks for that info.... I was busy, otherwise would have driven in for that! Sounds like I would have enjoyed it!

Nice pics. One ran into my windshield in a blizzard near Tomahawk a few years back. Hope he/she made it.

I saw a white owl today but it didn’t have any black markings that I saw. It looked pure white as I saw it perched and when it flew off. Every winter it hangs around the same area so the Next time I’ll have to try to get a photo of it. Would this be a juvenile or maybe even a different species altogether?

Always nice to see the silent and deadly snowy owls. More mottled indicates a younger bird. Glad people take pics and share them. Thanks.

Saw one whistling into a flock of feeding Canada geese. Fierce predators.
