Default Mossberg 500

Well I have an Mossberg 500 sitting there and has not been fired for years. It has a stock 28 inch barrel full choke and shoots 2.75 shells. Well time to do something, the value basically nothing. So heres what I plan to do. Replace the barrel with an 18.5 inch, which I can buy at Wholesale sports. Relace the stock and forend and which I did a little research on and decided on a Advanced Technolgies locking adjustible stock which I can buy at Milarm. Any comments, recommendations and tips would be appreciated. I gonna use it basically as a quad gun and to pack along the trail. And with the adjustible stock it will fit in my quad box.

Default Folding stock

Is this what you have in mind. What is MILARM selling the stock for?

Default hacksaw

Rather than buying a new barrel, why not cut the existing 28" barrel back to 19"? (make sure you're over 18.5") As long as it's not a vent rib barrel I think it should be pretty simple and should work ok for a quad gun.

Yeah I thought of cutting the barrell down too, but with a new barrel I could shoot 2.75 and 3 inch shells. And it has a modified choke. Heres the set up. $92 for the stock at milarm

I've domne some extensive shooting in the past with pistol grip stocks, and found that a standard stock is much more accurate and easier to point than one of the types with a pistol grip.
It would also sit better on the quad.
As far as cutting the barrel goes, I wouldn't.
I'd by a shorter barrel.
If you ever want to shoot ducks with it it's just a matter of switching barresl again.
