Miroku Winchesters
Need help in southern Ab. Cannot find an 1892 large loop at the regular retailers. Can anyone tell me how they feel compared to Marlin/Henry/Chiappa? Currently shopping for .44 Rem Mag combo and I'm willing to spend the Winchester money if fit/finish/feel is to my satisfaction. Looking for opinions from anyone with hands on experience. Ideally, some kind hearted AO member near Leth has one and would be willing to allow me to hold it, possibly try the action. Not asking to test fire. Thanks in advance.

There is a Winchester 92 large loop 44 Mag at Calgary Shooting Centre if it helps.

I have an original 1892 44WCf, and I also have a Winchester ( Miroku) 1886, 45-70 Gov't. The only way you will know how they feel is to handle them yourself. Everyone feels different things when handling a firearm.
I love both of mine, and to me they feel better than Marlin,Henry and Chiappa, but thats only my personal opinion; you may think different once you handle one.
If I lived closer I would let you shoot both of mine.
First pic is the 1886....second and third is the original 1892 44WCF (44-40)

Prairie Gun Traders in SK have an 1892 in 44 MAG, but it aint the big loop......

The Japanese built guns are much better fit and finish than the other guns of that era made by Winchester. They are every bit as good or better than the pre 64 Winchesters. The 45-70 I had was great, problem was it was VERY heavy. They sell for a premium for a very good reason. I have never owned the 44 mag version, closest I had was an 1873 SRC in 44-40. It shot well and was a fun gun but it was made in 1887 so hard to compare to today.

I use a Browning B92 miroku made gun. Its fit and finish is better than most of the american made guns I have played with. This includes JM marlins.
However the JM Marlin is a much simpler gun.

I have the large loop miroku- Winchester in a .357 have only used it on steel but it's fit and finish is very good and quite fun to shoot. I have not experience with any of the other brands.

I wish Miroku was making Winchester for the last 100 years. I have 12 pre 64 Winchester's, 5 older Marlin's and 3 Miroku's , the Miroku's are by far the best made of the bunch. They have become pricey in the last few years though. The new Marlin's ( since last year) are looking good now and are staying at a better price, and there is a few Henry's that have my attention also. Both are ok for modern production guns. But to me Miroku is top dog.

Not anymore, there isnt😎 Thanks very much for the tip! Saw it, held it, worked it,.....guess what I did then? The addiction has been quelled for the time being.

New problem
A picture I can probably do, range report will have to wait for a bit. The new problem I have is searching for an 1886 case hardened deluxe model in 45-70. The addiction grows😎
