Default Lower kananaskis ice

Anyone know how the ice is at lower kananaskis. Most particularity near where to two lakes connect? Even ifs its not entirely melted, is it enough close to the shores to be able to cast a line in or take a float tube out?

Thanks

I believe that there is always an open spot on the lower lake where the discharge plant is, it was open when I went midwinter but that was a couple years ago now.

There was a fair bit of open water when I was there three weeks ago. You could put a tube in by now, if you like crazy cold water.
