Default dalemead lake

Any recent updates on dalemead lake? Read a few old threads about little fish, just wondering if anyone has visited this fall/winter?

I was out there last Friday for a few hours with no luck. The water was cloudy with only a foot or two of visibility under the 14-15in of ice. There was almost no snow cover and probably even less with the warm weather, so if you head out there you will definitely need ice cleats.

interesting. Should go out there with a camera sometime. Did you see any other holes when you were there, or possibly any other anglers?

There were 2 other guys out on the ice fishing. And look like a few holes were punched. I'm sure I'll be back out there again some time to kill an afternoon as it's not to far from the city.

Thumbs up Dalemead lake

Hey. We were at dalemead lake today and were on the NE side of the lake. The ice was 12-14" thick and covered completely with 6" of soft snow. We caught two Pike with smelts and jigged them in 8-10' of water. Hope this helps anyone going out.

Open all year – Walleye limit 3 over 50 cm; Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 15; Lake Whitefish limit 10; Burbot limit 10; (where present, Trout limit 5; Mountain Whitefish limit 5 over 30 cm); Bait allowed.
Easy as looking at the regs.

Been out there a few times this year, we've caught a few mostly little hammer handles but a few over the 63 cm limit

Question

Does anyone know if Dalemead is open all year around or is it closed right now...? I see an earlier post says it's open but a buddy told me it's closed and not sure if he's just trying to keep me off the water so he can catch all the fish haha. I can't seem to find any regs or info about it online. Thanks!

If it is not on the regs the lake is open all year, however you have to follow provincial regs. The pike has to be over 63 cm to keep.
