Default A most beautiful kinda fish

Last weekend I had a chance to check off one of my bucket lists, golden trout, but boy was it a tough hike! These fish have a interesting demeanor. The hike had beautiful scenery, but I'm not sure how I would feel if I were to be skunked! I wish I knew how to post more pics!

If you plan on doing the trip, make sure you bring warm cloths, light weight fly gear "preferable" bear defense, and enough water.

Did you take a float tube in or just waders?

It was my first time up, so I left the belly boat. THANK GOD! It was a pretty good hike (more like a climb). If a guy were to bring a belly boat, it would be more productive, but we still had a great day, catching 7 between the two of us.
Lots of strikes, but they have a peculiar demenoar, and they take the fly very lightly, so it's very easy to miss the strike. Often times they would come up, and turn right back around! Amazing fish!!!!

There will definitely be bears near by, never seen so many different type of edible berries. The hike was three hours easily stretched to 4. I would not recommend you go alone, there is a lot of ankle biters and ways to hurt yourself. If this happens, you could be in very big trouble, finding someone to join you should not be hard, I'm sure that there is enough members on the forum that would love to join you, and make a new friend!

14-1/2km round trip, coming down is almost as hard, as going up! It was worth it.
