Default Rivers after some weather

I know the rivers are all up a but after the rain.
Lots of sediment kicked up and "muddying the waters".

Whats the best way to fish rivers in conditions like we have right now?

I'm probably still going to crank a red devil or something shiny around for fun this week...but whats your strategy when the river changes like this?

thanks

Call me lazy, but this is when I stay home and tie flies instead.

I've tried the flashy lures. I've caught some doing this, but still pretty pointless. The very few hits I've ever got doing this were probably more luck than anything (lure just happened to pass by within an inch of a fish's face at the time).

Good luck.

Pickerel rig and bait. If legal on your stretch of the river.
